SENSEable Tots are programmes of teacher-directed lessons which use sensory materials to help your children explore the use of their most important inborn instincts – the five senses of touch, smell, hearing, taste and seeing.These lessons will also encourage your children’s learning and development in accessible, fun ways – through songs, play, crafts and active games. Activities which hone their fine and gross motor skills, coordination and balance - and their understanding of the world and their part in it. They will also introduce them to classification activities such as shapes, colours and numbers, as well as teaching them about sensory attributes such as cold, sticky, sour and hard.

Much more than just having fun!

Although at a first glance, sensory classes may just look like children having fun, these activities play a vital role in their development. From the moment they are born, babies learn about their environment and themselves through their sense – seeing, hearing, tasting, smelling and feeling.

Hands-on learning

In a world often dominated by television, computer games and battery-operated toys, our children spend much less time fully-engaged in the kind of independent activity that appeals to their creative imagination. They need to engage with more hands-on activities that allow them to explore and experience the world for themselves - and be amazed at their own capabilities!
